Thursdays in June
8:00pm – 9:30pm

Hideout Theater
617 Congress Avenue (b/w 6th & 7th Sts.)
Austin, TX

You know what it takes to improvise a David Mamet play? Balls. Brass Balls. It takes brass balls to improvise a David Mamet play. Listen friend, the six intrepid members of Confidence Men have brass balls in spades and they are not afraid to use them to unfold the seedy underbelly of whatever the audience suggests on the spot.

Every Thursday in June, a new one-act play will be improvised in the style of such great works as Glengarry Glen Ross, Speed-the-Plow and House of Games, with all the rat-a-tat and grift of its actual predecessors.

All for a measly $3! And the audience will also be treated to two different opening comedy groups at no extra charge! This week it will be ESCAPE HATCH and TEXAS GIANT!

Included in the cast: Chris Allen (CeeJ TV), Tom Booker (Second City), Jeff Britt and Michael Ferstenfeld (who both just recently finished a successful run of Mamet’s American Buffalo), Troy Miller (creator, performer and director of Start Trekkin’), and Asaf Ronen (host of The Sickest F***ing Stories I Ever Heard).

Stool Pigeon :: Tom Booker

Join our esteemed guest and name-dropper to the stars as he shares stories about his various omni-sexual exploits in VIP skyboxes at the Oscars while the world-class super-players of Coldtowne Theater (in hot pursuit of high art) interpret his stories with masterful, self-deprecating improvisational comedy. Wha ?? It’s STOOL PIGEON, y’all, *the* comedy event of the week this week at Coldtowne Theater.

Stool Pigeon, our weekly special guest monologist show, happens every Saturday at 8pm. Every week, we have someone from the community come and tell true stories from their life, and some of Austin’s (nay, America’s) finest comedy talent use those stories as inspiration for improv comedy scenes. Advance Tickets for all Coldtowne shows are available here :: http://coldtownetheater.frontgatetickets.com

Tom Booker is an actor, improviser, teacher, writer, director, theater-starter and yes, big-time godawful shameless name-dropper extraordinaire. See him bitch-slap Larry David here :: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUzum60ZwPw

But seriously folks :: Tom Booker moved to Austin from Los Angeles, California. While in Los Angeles, Tom Booker taught at The Second City Training Center, was artistic director of the awarding theatre company Theatre-A-Go-Go!, where he conceived and directed Patty, Patty, BANG! BANG!: The Patty Hearst Musical, Up With Puberty!: A Beautiful Tale About The Ugliest Time Of Your Life, and the stage adaptation of the film Valley Of The Dolls. In Chicago, Tom Booker studied at The Second City Training Center and with Del Close at The Improv Olympic and was a founding member of The Annoyance Theatre. Tom Booker has appeared in a handful of films, several television shows, and nearly one hundred commercials. You know Tom, don’t you ?? And Tom knows George Clooney. Ergo, you should come to this show.
