This class will teach you how to use your training in improvisation to improve your audition skills. We will go through a series of different types of auditions as we show and discuss what improv techniques can be used in the commercial audition process. Students will be taped during their auditions so the can see what they need to work on and how much their work has improved during the class.
The workshop will be taught by Tom Booker, who before founding The Institution Theatre in Austin was an instructor at The Second City Training Center from 2001 to 2007. Tom Booker has been studying improvisation since 1986. As an actor that has booked more than 75 commercials (AFLAC, Nike, Sprint, Off!, NBA, Pop Secret, etc., etc.) and has worked with directors like Michael Bay and Spike Jonze. As a director Tom Booker has directed many commercials, many award winning plays and a feature film that premiered at The Sundance Film Festival.
