Culminating in a masterfully made-up Mametesque two-act play with special guest star Ken Webster, artistic director of Hyde Park Theatre, <i>WHAM! BAM! THANK YOU! -MAMET</i> also welcomes three ballsy raffle winners onto the stage to perform impromptu scenes with <b>all Oleannic Six</b> of the Confidence Men. The night kicks off with local songmaker and whimsicologist Southpaw Jones. All proceeds help the Confidence Men travel to Minneapolis next month to perform in the Twin Cities Improv Festival.</div>

<p>Confidence  Men: Improvised  Mamet, masters of rat-a-tat, funny flim-flam, and at  least two  pronunciations of &#8220;c***,&#8221; up the ante in WOMEN WITH  CONFIDENCE. A  seductive new shill is cast for each week&#8217;s  swindle&#8211;premiere Austin  improvisers Shana Merlin, Madeline Malka, and  Lauren Zinn,  respectively&#8211;to push the grift of laughter even further.</p>
<p>Confidence  Men-voted Best of Week at FronteraFest 2010, nominated  for the B. Iden  Payne award for Excellence in Improvisational Theatre  in 2009, and an  official selection in four comedy festivals around the  country in the  last year-improvise original two-act plays in the style  of modern  American playwright David Mamet, and feature a live 45-second  musical  intermission by clarinetist Tara Buentello.</p>

<p>Tom Booker, the Artistic Director of The Institution Theater, will lead the FREE IMPROV WORKSHOPS. Before moving to Austin, Tom Booker taught at The Second City Training Center in Los Angeles where he used his improv skills to book more than 75 commercials. Before moving to Los Angeles, Tom Booker studied at The Second City in Chicago, trained with legendary improv Guru Del Close at The ImprovOlympic and helped to start Chicago’s Annoyance Theatre. Tom Booker has been studying and teaching improvisation for more than 24 years.</p>

<p><span style="color: #000000;">There will be a FREE IMPROV WORKSHOP offered on Tuesday, January 5th from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. AND another FREE IMPROV WORKSHOP offered on Wednesday, January 6th from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.. Both workshops will take place at The United States Art Authority at Spider House located at 2906 Fruth Street. (Right next to Spider House Cafe at 29th and Guadalupe)</span></p>
<p><span style="color: #000000;">Tom Booker, the Artistic Director of The Institution Theater, will lead the FREE IMPROV WORKSHOPS. Before moving to Austin, Tom Booker taught at The Second City Training Center in Los Angeles where he used his improv skills to book more than 75 commercials. Before moving to Los Angeles, Tom Booker studied at The Second City in Chicago, trained with legendary improv Guru Del Close at The ImprovOlympic and helped to start Chicago&#8217;s Annoyance Theatre. Tom Booker has been studying and teaching improvisation for more than 23 years.</span></p>
