Tom Booker got
his first taste of the “big time” as a college mascot. After almost graduating from college, Tom headed to Chicago
where he studied at The Second City Training Center and with legendary Improv guru Del Close at Chicago’s ImprovOlympic.
Tom also went on to become a founding member of Chicago’s Annoyance Theatre where he performed in many, many original
productions and wrote and directed shows with ‘Whose Line Is It Anyway’ musical director, Laura Hall. In 1991
Tom went to New York with other members of The Annoyance Theatre to perform Off Broadway in “The Real Live Brady Bunch”
at the world famous Village Gate Theatre. (It is now a CVC Drugstore) After a year long run in New York, Tom was whisked off
to L.A. to reprise his role of Bobby Brady at the Westwood Playhouse. When the production of The Real Live Brady Bunch ended,
Tom formed “Theatre-A-Go-Go!”, a theater company dedicated to presenting late night shows that were created through
improv. Teaming up again with Laura Hall, Tom wrote and directed the award winning “Patty, Patty, BANG! BANG! –
The Patty Hearst Musical!”, “Up With Puberty!”, “You, Me & LSD” as well as many others.
In 1997 Tom and company took their stage production of “Valley Of The Dolls” to the Circle In The Square Theater
in New York for a fun filled six month run. Returning to Los Angeles, Tom and his producing partner Jon Kean decided to make
a movie. They co-wrote and co-directed the feature film” Kill The Man” starring Luke Wilson, which premiered at
the 1999 Sundance Film Festival. For the past six years, Tom has been a director and instructor at The Second City Training
Center in Los Angeles. Tom has appeared in a several television shows, a few movies and nearly a hundred commercials. He’s
a really nice guy. You should meet him.
